Let’s start with one of the original brands. Founded in 1946, it became a notable guitar brand when they released the telecaster in 1951. It shortly became a popular choice for guitarists. It made the solid body guitar into mainstream music.

Another famous guitar brand that’s just as iconic as Fender. Gibson. It’s also known as one of the best guitar brands. Founded in 1902, it was originally a guitar and mandolin company. Gibson later went to buy Epiphone in 1957. Like Fender and Squier, Epiphone became a sister company to Gibson. Overall, Gibson then introduced famous guitar designs like the E-335 Semi hollow, Epiphone Casino, Gibson SG, and many others!

Another notable company that many know. Gretsch was founded in 1883, but they started making guitars in the 1930’s and 40’s. But became mainstream in the 50’s and 60’s. 2 great guitars they made are the Duo Jet and country gentlemen.

The Country gentlemen was famously used by George Harrison, Chet Akins, and many others. It’s twangy and versatile sound made it a staple in 50’s music.

The Grandfather of the iconic acoustic guitar, Martin guitars are possibly the most famous acoustic guitar brand ever! First founded in 1833, it had a long a reputation of making amazing instruments.
